Our dental team has been providing patient-focused care in Edmonton since 1974 when Dr. William (Bill) J. Sharun started the practice. Today we’re proud to include Dr. Jaimee Buchkowsky along with a highly qualified team of Registered Dental Hygienists and Registered Dental Assistants.
One meeting with Dr. “Bill” Sharun and you’ll understand why he’s known as the life of the party. His big smile and gentle demeanor put everyone at ease.
A graduate of the University of Alberta dental program, Dr. Bill has been practicing dentistry for 37 years. He’s been instrumental in the advancement of his profession through his work with local, provincial and national dental organizations.
1994 – 1995: Alberta Dental Association and College (ADA&C), President, involved in preventing the closure of the University of Alberta Faculty of Dentistry

Dr. Bill is an avid Eskimos and Oilers fan; so don’t be surprised if you see him at the next game. Even if you don’t catch him under the scoreboard, he’s always interested in talking about what was on it. Edmonton has long been Dr. Bill’s home, so he’s keen to give back to the community he lives in. He’s served on the Board of Directors and as President for Edmonton’s Ronald McDonald House since 1999, acting as Capital Campaign Chair and helping to raise $11.5M for the house. He was elected trustee for the Stollery’s Hospital Foundation in 2010.
He also volunteers with Kindness in Action (KIA), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing basic dental care, pain relief, and oral disease prevention to the underprivileged in poverty-stricken communities outside of North America. Dr. Sharun has done seven KIA missions and plans on more.
Our team loves Dr. Jaimee Buchkowsky’s warm smile, relaxed disposition and sense of humor. A graduate from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Medical Science and a Doctor of Dental Surgery, she believes in the importance of oral health.
Born and raised in the Edmonton area, Jaimee is proud to serve the Edmonton community. She believes in giving back and actively participates in Homeless Connect Edmonton to provide free essential services to homeless and at-risk individuals.
In her free time Dr. Buchkowsky loves playing with her dog, Peach, and enjoys golf, traveling and sampling food.
Joyce is the sunny face that greets you when you enter our office, the happy voice you speak with on the phone and a graduate of NAIT’s Dental Assisting Program. She’s been working alongside Dr. Bill since 1977 and coordinates the treatment needs of all our patients.
She has served as President of both the Edmonton Dental Assistants’ Association (EDAA) and the Alberta Dental Assistants’ Association (ADAA).
An avid hockey-aunt, Joyce can fill you in on the blossoming careers of her three talented nephews. She’s likely to be found biking, gardening or playing with her cats. Dedicated to the Edmonton community, Joyce volunteers for Homeless Connect Edmonton. She also extends her volunteerism to Kindness in Action (KIA), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing basic dental care, pain relief, and oral disease prevention to the underprivileged in poverty-stricken communities outside of North America. Joyce has completed ten KIA missions throughout Africa, Southeast Asia and South America.
In addition to working as a registered Dental Hygienist in our office treating and educating patients, Judy is also a part-time clinical instructor and lecturer at the University of Alberta in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry’s Dental Hygiene Program. A U of A graduate herself, Judy has also worked in community/public health, addressing oral health issues in infants, toddlers and young children.
Like many of her office colleagues, Judy has volunteered locally, providing free dental hygiene therapy to the homeless who attend the Homeless Connect event. Judy has also volunteered extensively with her provincial and national dental hygiene associations and has held a number of board positions including President of both associations.
Doris has been part of our team since her 1987 graduation from NAIT’s Dental Assisting Program and has great experience backed by the knowledge of a full range of dental procedures. We consider her an invaluable asset, and we think you will too.
Doris also works hard keeping Dr. Bill in line. She spends her non-work hours with her family and volunteering in her Croatian community and church. She’s a big fan of good food and Christmas presents.
A graduate from the Dental Assisting Program at Holland College in Prince Edward Island, Brenda is a constant contributor to our caring and knowledgeable environment and has been since 2000. She never forgets a face, and her warm personality and gentle demeanor put everyone at ease. Brenda volunteers with the Alberta Dental Assistants’ Association (ADAA) and is a big believer in giving back to her community.
She volunteers with Kindness in Action (KIA), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing basic dental care, pain relief, and oral disease prevention to the underprivileged in poverty-stricken communities outside of North America. Brenda has completed several KIA missions throughout Africa and South America. She is also a regular contributor to Homeless Connect Edmonton.
In her spare time, Brenda enjoys marathon running, fly-fishing and any outdoor activity with her family and Great Dane named Rocky.
Our new kid on the block, Casey joined our team in February of 2013. Casey has been a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) since graduating from KDM Dental College in 2005. She thoroughly enjoys working in such a wonderful profession and consistently brings her warm smile, motivated attitude and caring nature to work with her every day.
A competitive rider since a young age, Casey has enjoyed many aspects of the equestrian world and had the opportunity to show cutting horses. Nowadays, in her spare time, Casey enjoys running half marathons, going on road trips and taking the family camping. Casey is the proud mother to two young children who keep her on her toes and constantly give her something to smile and laugh about.
Pam has many years of experience working in the dental field and is a great addition to our reception team. Originally from Edson, Pam has worked as a dental receptionist since 1984. As part of our team, we are excited to have Pam to share her insight and skills at the front desk.
Pam values her positivity and enjoys laughing, helping others and spending time with friends and family. She has two sons attending the University of Alberta, is passionate about fitness and stays active by walking, running and attending a variety of fitness classes. Pam never misses an opportunity to enjoy the many concerts, festivals, markets and naturally beautiful amenities that her new home, Edmonton, has to offer.
